A 62-year-old sex offender from Uxbridge is held on $5 million bail on new charges including assault and battery on a child under the age of 14.

Daniel Snay pleaded not guilty on Monday in Uxbridge District Court. Police say he allegedly used his $10 million lottery prize winnings from 2008 to help commit his crimes.

Snay was arrested and charged Friday with sexually assaulting a boy for several years starting from when the boy was 10 years old.

Police in Connecticut and Rhode Island are also getting involved in the investigation as some of the alleged offenses happened there.

Police Chief Jeffrey Lourie says Snay's “windfall aided the commission of the crimes” by helping him gain favor with people.

Snay is listed as a Level 3 sex offender.
