Valois Wins 4th RI Amatuer

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Brad Valois won his 4th RI Amatuer golf tournament in the last decade, defeating defending champ Charlie Blanchard 4 and 3 on Saturday at Quisnessett Country Club.

Valois had 4 birdies on the first 18 holes to build a 3-up lead on Blanchard. He then birdies holes 1 and 3 on the second 18 to go 5-up and he never looked back.

Only four other players have won 4 amatuers. Cameron Quinn did it in the 50's, 60's and 70's,  Robert Allen did it in the 40's and 50's, John Burke did it in the 30's and D Fairchild did it between 1907 and 1921.
