Veterans job fair to be held Monday

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) – A job fair is being held for veterans in Rhode Island.
The Hiring our Heroes Rhode Island Job Fair will be held Monday at the Warwick Armory in Warwick. U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is scheduled to deliver opening remarks at the event.
The free job fair is aimed at connecting employers with veterans, reservists, National Guard members and their spouses.
Reed's office says the event is sponsored by the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.
Congress recently passed a veterans jobs bill that provides incentives for employers to hire veterans.
The legislation provides businesses that hire unemployed veterans with a tax credit of up to $5,600 per veteran. It also offers companies that hire veterans with service-connected disabilities a tax credit of up to $9,600 per veteran.
