Victim drove himself to the hospital after being shot, Fall River police say

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A man drove himself to the hospital after being shot in Fall River Monday night, police said.

According to Sergeant Moses Pereira, police received a call from a man who had been shot in the area of Choate Street. The man told police he was shot and was driving to a local hospital for treatment.

The victim, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, told investigators he was shot in the hip by someone he knew. The identity of the suspect has yet to be confirmed, police said.

ABC 6 News crews were at Charlton Memorial Hospital shortly after the shooting where investigators could be seen taking photos of a car parked near the emergency entrance to the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by Fall River Police Major Crimes Division.
