Victim Identified in Richmond Rollover

RICHMOND, R.I. (AP) – State police say a 15-year-old girl has died after the minivan she was in rolled over on Interstate 95 in Richmond.

Police think a tire on the van blew out, causing the driver to lose control just before the rollover on Monday morning in which four other people were hurt and needed hospitalization. Police say all five people in the vehicle were family and friends.

Capt. Jamie Pereira said neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be factors. It was not known whether the occupants were wearing seat belts.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
