Victim in New Bedford crash identified

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE)- Police have identified the victim of the crash in New Bedford that took place on early Sunday morning.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office that the front seat passenger was 20-year-old Tierrah Martinez. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, is in a serious but stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital. Police say that the 21-year-old woman sustained serious injuries during the crash.

The crash happened at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to police. The driver veered off the roadway and ran into a cobblestone planter.
