Victims robbed, bound with duct tape in Taunton armed home invasion

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) – Police are investigating an armed home invasion early Tuesday morning in Taunton.

Taunton Police responded to a multi-family home on Morton Street around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday after reports of people being held against their will, possibly at gunpoint.

Officers on scene entered the building through the front door, which was half-open, and made a forced entry into the apartment.

According to Police, officers located a man and woman whose mouths were wrapped up with duct tape. The woman was observed to be holding a small child.

The victims were uninjured, but reported an undisclosed amount of money being taken from them.

While Police searched the apartment, officers outside the building observed multiple individuals exiting the apartment out of windows before fleeing toward the Taunton State Hospital.

Police searched the apartment and seized two firearms and one magazine.

Taunton Police searched the area in and around the apartment and were unable to locate any suspects.
