A real estate investment group announced Tuesday they believe their site at Victory Place can be an alternative site for a PawSox ballpark should plans to build one on the I-195 land fall through.

JAG Investment Realty LLC owns the Victory Place property near Davol Square in Providence.

The realty group says the eight-acre parcel could hold a 10,000 seat multiuse ballpark and offers close proximity to the highway, abundant parking resources.

“JAG Investment Realty strongly believes that keeping the PawSox in Rhode Island and building a ballpark in Providence is an extremely important endeavor. We are also respectful of the new ownership team led by Mr. Skeffington and their current plan and understand our location is not their first choice. That said, we also want it to be known that there is a highly qualified alternate location in Providence in the event that the current site does not meet final approval for any reason,” said Bill Fischer, spokesperson for JAG Investment Realty, LLC.

A spokesperson for the PawSox told ABC6 they are not looking at this land as a potential site for a Providence ballpark.
