ATTLEBORO, Mass. – After nearly three decades, a popular donut and lotto store abruptly closed its doors over the weekend.

The 24 hour Vista Donuts and Lotto in Attleboro was considered a good luck charm for lottery players.

Now many loyal customers and employees are stunned at the store shutting down without any warning.

“It was a great place to work, it really was. We had a lot of customers that were our friends and we made a lot of great friends there and met a lot of great people. It’s devastating,” said former employee, Aleta Bringhurst.

“They wait on people, they’ve been waiting on me for all these years, and jeez all of a sudden the boss comes in and says alright we’re closing, go home. With no reason, no nothing. Wow it’s crazy,” said Providence City Councilman, Wilbur Jennings.

Vista Donuts was a 24 hour establishment that has had numerous jackpot winners over the years. In fact, several years ago, it gave away more than $4 million in lottery winnings.

ABC6 News reached out to the owners, but have yet to hear back.

We will continue to follow up on this abrupt closing and bring you more details as they come.
