Wake Wins, Ellbury and Crawford Go Yard as the Sox Beat the Tigers

Ellsbury, Crawford homer as Boston beats Detroit

      DETROIT (AP) – Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford homered in a
five-run third inning to help the Boston Red Sox beat the Detroit
Tigers 6-3 on Friday night.
      Boston won for the 12th time in 14 games and have scored 34 runs
in its last three.
      Tim Wakefield (2-1) picked up his 195th career win, allowing two
runs on five hits in seven innings.
      Rick Porcello (4-3) gave up a season-high six runs in three
innings in his first start since allowing one hit in eight innings
in a win over Pittsburgh.
      Rookie Charlie Furbush kept the Tigers in the game with five
shutout innings of relief. He has not allowed a run in 8 2-3
innings in his first two major-league appearances.
