Wallace To Start For Celts In Game 7

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers says Rasheed

Wallace will start at center in Game 7 of the NBA finals.

Wallace is replacing Kendrick Perkins, who sprained ligaments in

his right knee Tuesday night in the first quarter of Boston's 89-67

loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rivers joked that he went with Wallace over Glen “Big Baby”

Davis for Thursday's game because “he's old. I figured I'd play

the oldest guys.” Rivers added he thought Wallace would make a

good combination with Kevin Garnett and would help space the floor

for point guard Rajon Rondo.

Wallace, signed by the Celtics over the summer, played for

Detroit in the NBA finals' last Game 7, a loss to San Antonio in

2005.
