Warm Air to Finish December

Highs Thursday topped out into the 50s.

The warm air has arrived in Southern New England. Although the lower-50s may not be very warm, it is about 10 degrees milder than the average high of 40. High pressure keeps skies clear tonight and overnight lows will drop into the lower-30s. Even though it’s chilly, it’s well above the average low of 25 for Friday. With this milder than average start, we will continue this warm batch of air moving in from the southwest and a day full of sunshine. The result will be highs in the lower to mid-50s. Clouds roll in for the weekend and there is a chance of rain showers starting Saturday afternoon. Rain and patchy fog will be with us as we welcome in the new year Saturday night.
