Warm Winter Weekend Ahead
A warm front this evening is bringing light snow showers through western portions of southern New England. These will be light and no accumulation is expected. It’s behind the front that our weekend weather is. Temperatures will top out in the 40s Saturday with plenty of sunshine and Sunday, while mainly cloudy, will be even milder near 50. Sunday night, a cold front comes through with a slight chance of rain showers.
The last days of January are looking dry Monday and Tuesday, both with lots of clouds and cooler temperatures. February may come in with some active weather on Wednesday. Tuesday night after midnight snow may develop then mix with or transition to rain Wednesday then taper off as snow showers Wednesday night. Behind this system, we will turn much colder and next Friday is shaping up to be very cold with highs in the 20s and lows near 10.
Three area rivers are still in minor flood but will improve by the end of the weekend.
