WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick beaches will not be free next summer.
The city council voted unanimously to reinstate fees at Oakland, City Park, and Conimicut beaches in 2018.
They will also increase season passes for residents doubling to $20 and non-residents paying $60.
The parking rates will be in place from the third Saturday in June through Labor Day.
The councilors said the beaches went downhill while they were free with people littering and not keeping up the area
