Warwick cancels fireworks show scheduled for Saturday

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The fireworks show that was scheduled for Saturday in Warwick has been canceled.

A spokesperson for Mayor Frank Picozzi said he was told by the pyrotechnic that the predicted winds and other weather would not allow for a safe show.

The show is part of the city’s annual Gaspee Days celebration.

Picozzi is attempting to coordinate a new date with the Gaspee Days Committee.
