Warwick middle school student accused of making comment that was considered threat to school

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A Warwick middle school student is accused of making a comment that was considered a threat to the school.

Superintendent Lynn Dambruch told ABC 6 News Tuesday that the Warwick Veterans Memorial Middle School student heard something on YouTube and “repeated [it] without realizing the seriousness of the matter.”

Dambruch said they “view any threatening comment as a potential threat” and that the “safety of students is paramount.”

Also in Warwick, a student threatened to shoot up Lippitt Elementary School over the weekend.
