Warwick murder suspect appears in court

The suspect accused in the stabbing death of his nephew and assault of his brother, appeared in court for the first time Tuesday.

Jared Rodgers, 20, appeared court in court for a status hearing.

Rodgers has been held without bail since he was arrested in late March on charges he stabbed his 19-year-old nephew Michael Rogers to death and stabbed his 30-year-old brother David in the early morning hours on Haswill Street in Warwick

Four other men were charged in connection to the murder and assault. Three of them, John Ingram, 18, of Cranston, Josue Morillo, 19, of Providence, and Andrew Soben, 19, of West Warwick, also appeared in court Tuesday.
