Warwick PD collects nearly 5,000 pounds of canned goods, raises over $1,600 during food drive

WARWICK, RI (WLNE) – The Warwick Police Department says they have collected nearly 5,000 pounds of canned goods and raised $1,638 during their food drive initiative.

The food drive ran between Nov. 5- and Nov. 20.

Warwick police conducted four “stuff a cruiser” events during the drive at two different Stop & Shop Warwick locations, the Shaws on Warwick Avenue, and Dave’s Market on West Shore Road.

The money that was collected will go directly to the Westbay Community Action which will be donated on Saturday, according to a press release.

Westbay Community Action is a local social service agency with a food pantry program.
