WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE)- A 4-hour standoff ended with an arrest in Warwick Friday night.

Warwick Police said officers responded to a Blade Street apartment for a domestic disturbance around 6 p.m. The female resident said her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Daniel Chandronnet of East Providence, broke into her home and was damaging it.

When officers arrived, Chandronnet was inside of the apartment alone, and refused to leave.

After unsuccessful attempts to get Chandronnet to leave and surrender, the Warwick Police SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were sent to the home.

After four hours, SWAT entered the home and found Chandronnet inside and he was taken into custody.

Warwick Police said no injuries were reported during the initial domestic incident, standoff, or arrest.

The 31-year-old is being held at the Warwick Police Department on numerous domestic violence charges.

The Department notes this incident was unrelated to Friday’s earlier officer-involved shooting at police headquarters.
