WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was stabbed near a gym in Warwick Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they were called to the area of Work Out World on West Shore Road just before 2:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 60s with a stab wound on his right arm. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said an initial investigation revealed the man and another person were involved in an argument at the corner of West Shore Road and Buttonwoods Avenue, which led up to the stabbing.

While no arrests have been made yet, police said they have developed a suspect and have deemed the matter as “targeted.”

It is unclear if the victim is looking to pursue charges at this time.
