Warwick Police investigate body found in the water

WARWICK, R.I (WLNE) – Warwick Police and Fire responded to the beach area of Nausauket Road for a body found floating in the water.

The body was seen floating 50 yards offshore in Greenwich Bay.

Warwick Fire was able to retrieve the male body and bring him to shore, where he was later pronounced deceased at Kent County Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses say the man, identified as 49-year-old James D. Kimball was seen digging for quohogs prior to being discovered.

The cause of death is pending results from the medical examiner, but police say it does not appear suspicious.
