Warwick Police Release Surveillance Photos of Carjacking Suspect

Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Warwick, RI (WLNE) – Warwick Police released surveillance photos of a suspect in a carjacking investigation.

A 63-year-old woman said a man stole her car, a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, at knife point in the parking lot of JoAnn Fabric and Craft Store at 9:05am on Saturday, October 30. The store is on Bald Hill Road in Warwick.

Police said the suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, approximately between 5’3″ – 5’9″ tall, with grayish brown hair. The woman described him as wearing a dark jacket, black/grey hat, blue jeans and black sneakers. Police said he had a black bulky backpack on his back, and it was covered by a trash bag. The Santa Fe has Rhode Island plate XR-103.

Warwick officers said the suspect drove away in the car and hit a witness in the parking lot on his way out.

Police said they believe the same man was involving in a similar case the day before, Friday, October 29. However, in that case, police said he wore different shoes.

Warwick Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. They said you should not approach him if you see him. Instead, call police immediately.
