Warwick police warn residents of phone scam

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick police warned residents of an ongoing phone scam Tuesday.

The department posted to Facebook saying that scammers are calling, pretending to be police, and asking residents to pay fees for a missed court date.

Police said that they are not making any such calls.

Anyone who encounters a scammer should call the Warwick Police Department at 401-468-4200.
