Warwick ‘rap group’ faces backlash after videos show apparent iguana killing

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) —  “Waraq” a “rap group” out of Warwick received backlash earlier this week after posting videos that appear to show them killing and eating iguanas.

The group posted a series of videos to their Facebook page on Monday showing members holding the carcass of one of the iguanas and then cooking what appears to be its insides.

Commenters accused the group of animal abuse.

The group told ABC 6 News, “Waraq does what we want when we want. It’s not our fault people get pissed off because of it.”

Warwick police said that the videos were not recorded in Rhode Island, but rather in a state where the killing of iguanas is legal.
