WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The city of Warwick’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display for Saturday has been rescheduled because of the weather.

Liz Tufts, a spokesperson for Mayor Frank Picozzi, said the event at Rocky Point will now take place on Sunday.

While the date was changed, Tufts said the event will be exactly the same with the food truck event starting at 3 p.m. and the fireworks show at 6 p.m.

ABC 6 meteorologist Nick Morganelli said that there will be steady rain after 5 p.m. Saturday, continuing past midnight.
