WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – A social worker at Pilgrim High School in Warwick is helping students go to the prom without having to worry about the cost.

Last year Heidi Fanion turned her office into “Heidi’s Boutique” filled with colorful prom dresses of all sizes ranging from 0 to 24.

She offers those dresses along with suits, no questions asked.

“Prom can be very expensive. Between tickets, dresses, hair, makeup and shoes, whatever the student chooses to wear. I try to lessen the burden for them and offer them a free gown or suit,” says Fanion.

While she has plenty of prom dresses Heidi says suits are often harder to come by.

So far 12 gowns and 3 suits have been given to students.
