BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) – A Washington man was charged in federal court Wednesday in Boston for sexually exploiting an underage Fall River girl.

Jabarie Phillips (a.k.a Jabarie Lindsey), 41, of Seattle, was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children after performing sexual acts with a 14-year-old runaway girl on a bus bound for Seattle.

An FBI spokesperson said Phillips and the girl began communicating via Facebook in April of 2019. Phillips requested sexually explicit videos and pictures from the girl, before attempting to coerce her to run away with him.

The minor met Phillips on May 2nd in Boston, before boarding a bus to Seattle, Washington.

Phillips was arrested in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 3rd on multiple warrants. One warrant out of Washington charged Phillips with violating his probation following a 2008 manslaughter charge. The other, out of Massachusetts, charged him with kidnapping.

The FBI spokesperson said Phillips is currently in state custody. He will appear in Boston federal court at a later date.
