WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — CVS Health has agreed to buy Aetna in a deal worth nearly $70 billion.

The acquisition, announced Sunday night, pairs a company that runs more than 9,700 drug stores with an insurer covering around 22-million people.

CVS hopes the deal will help them push deeper into customer care.

In time, shoppers may find clinics in CVS stores with more health services.

Aetna is based out of Hartford, Conn. and recently announced they will move their headquarters to New York City.

It is unknown at this time if CVS will move operations to Rhode Island. The deal still needs to be approved by shareholders.
