West Warwick man shoots pellet gun, lodges pellet in victim’s eye

COVENTRY, R.I (WLNE) — A 22-year-old West Warwick man is facing felony charges after shooting someone in the neck and eye with a pellet gun.

According to Coventry Police, David Eccleston was arrested after he got into an argument with the unidentified victim on Wednesday, and shot at him several times around 5:16 p.m.

The victim sustained serious injuries. One of the pellets was lodged in the victim’s eye, police said.

Authorities say with the assistance of the West Warwick Police Department, Eccleston was located and taken into custody.

Eccleston was charged with several charges including felony assault with a dangerous weapon.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he remains at this time.
