UPDATE: Credit card thief arrested, at least 50 arrests prior

WEST WARWICK, R.I. – A man wanted for credit card theft has been arrested, say West Warwick Police.

According to Police, the man, identified as Donald Dawson, was arrested by Cranston Police on Oct. 21st, 2016, and has been arrested at least 50 times prior in 3 different states.

Dawson was charged with burglary and fraud. Police say he had several felony warrants as well.

On September, 29th, 2016 Dawson broke into a home during the day in West Warwick and took the victim’s credit cards to illegally purchase items around the state, including Warwick, Cranston and Pawtucket.

Security footage released showed Dawson allegedly making purchases with one of the stolen cards on the same day as the break.

Dawson is currently at the ACI awaiting trial.
