Westerly bank robbed; suspect on the loose

The search continues for a male suspect after he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Main Street bank Tuesday morning.

Westerly Police responded to the Washington Trust Company branch in McQuade's Market at 10:45am, where they were told that the suspect had left with cash.

He is described as a white male around 30 to 40 years old, with dark hair and dark facial hair. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and a backpack. He did not appear to have a weapon.   

No further information is available as of yet, but police will release more as the investigation progresses.
