Westerly Police search for bank robbery suspect

Westerly Police are searching for the suspect in a bank robbery that occurred on February 2nd.

Just before 3 p.m., witnesses say a white male entered the Savings Institute Bank & Trust on Post Road and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect then walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was shown.

The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his 50’s or 60’s, and about 5’8” to 5’10” tall.

He was wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket, a white baseball hat, black gloves, grey sneakers, and a black jacket wrapped around his shoulders.
