Wet Roads Flash-Freeze Wednesday Night

After a day of rain with ice and snow still clogging area storm drains, wet roads and sidewalks flash froze and turned into skating rinks Wednesday night.

About an inch of rain fell on Providence, and with no place for any of it to go it formed puddles in some places – and lakes in others.  Crews were able to get most of the storm drains opened up, clearing much of the water, but as temperatures fell late this afternoon everything snap-froze.

ABC6 Reporter Erica Ricci found some people trying to deal with the mess tonight rather than first thing Thursday.  She has the details from Providence.
