White House issues guidelines on slowing spread of coronavirus
"15 Days to Slow the Spread" outlines a nationwide course of action for combating spread of COVID-19
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- President Donald Trump has issued a set of guidelines for the nation to undertake as it looks to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The president outlined the the guidelines in an address to the nation Monday, calling on citizens to do their part in stopping further spread of the deadly virus that has claimed over 100 lives in the United States as of Tuesday night.
Particular precautions are highlighted for older Americans, 60-year-old and up, who should drastically limit their exposure to other people. The elderly population and those with pre-existing medical conditions are considered at-risk groups for severe COVID-19 infection.
Titled “15 Days to Slow the Spread”, the guide outlines steps all citizens should take at work or at home. Among the most aggressive measures are a call to avoid groups of ten or more people, and an end to discretionary travel.
