Wintry Storm Tonight

Clouds are already in place and the snow is on the way. After the late commute, snow will develop from west to east and will fill in all of Sothern New England by midnight. From here we will see minor accumulations of 1-3 inches, and even less along the coast. Around 3am we will begin transitioning over to rain. Overnight we will see snow/ sleet and rain as well as an increasing wind. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for inland areas of Sothern New England from 7pm tonight through 7pm Saturday for slippery road conditions. A Wind Advisory is in effect for all coastal areas from 1am to 10 am Saturday for winds gusting to 50 mph. Scattered power outages are possible and driving may be difficult especially in a higher profile vehicle. There is also a Coastal Flood Advisory issued for 5am to 9am Saturday for the potential of up to 3 feet of surge. Coastal roads and parking lots may become flooded and some coastal roads may be closed during this time. Rain tapers off and may even kick over to snow in the afternoon before it ends. Clearing then takes over for Saturday night. Sunday will be sunny indeed and seasonable with highs in the mid-40s. Monday looks like the winner of the week with sunshine and highs near 50.
