FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Fall River Police, and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office are investigating a death at a condo complex after a woman fell out of a window.

Just after 9:30 Tuesday morning police started getting calls about a woman lying on a walkway outside the Waterview Heights condo complex.

“I got back about 10 A.M. and there were many police cars here, and many rescue trucks, and the area was roped off and there were many residents out here,” said resident Rick Sahady. “We knew something had happened but at that point we weren’t exactly sure what.”

The 42-year-old victim was brought to Rhode Island Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

“It’s too bad,” said one resident. “I heard the lady died. That’s about all I can say about it. Say a prayer for her.”

According to officials, she fell from a third story window. It’s not clear how that happened.

“We knew something had happened but at that point we weren’t exactly sure what,” said Sahady.

Almost 12 hours later, detectives continued to comb through the scene Tuesday night; taking photos and walking through the rooms of the third floor condo.

Residents of the complex were shaken by the circumstances.

“Stunned! Because I have been here 20 years now,” said Sahady. “This is a very quiet place. I’ve never seen much of anything like that. Ever.”

Some of the neighbors told ABC 6 they believe it’s a man who rents the condo, though that is not confirmed.

Officials say the last known address for the victim is in Taunton.
