Update: Police ID woman in fatal Warwick moped crash
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Warwick police have identified the Cranston woman who was pronounced dead after losing control of a moped on Post Road in Warwick Monday afternoon.
Ann Marie Sylvester, 54, had been traveling north when a slight curve caused her to lose control of the moped. Police said she hit a curb before striking a stone wall.
Warwick police, along with fire and emergency medical personnel, had responded to the call just after 4:30 p.m., where bystanders were attending the victim.
Emergency medical services found Sylvester unresponsive, and transported her to the Kent Hospital, were she was later pronounced deceased.
The Warwick Police Traffic Unit is conducting a reconstruction of the accident. At this time, police do not believe that speed, alcohol, or distracted driving were a factor.
