Woman stabbed near Kennedy Plaza ice rink

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A woman was stabbed in Providence Sunday night in the area of the Kennedy Plaza ice skating rink.

Providence police confirmed to ABC 6 News the stabbing happened after the woman stepped in between two men that were fighting.

The woman, whose name wasn’t immediately released, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

An ABC 6 crew were at the scene just before 7 p.m. as an ambulance left the scene.

The suspect was taken into custody by Providence police.

No further information was immediately released.
