UPDATE: Woman hit by car in Providence dies from injuries

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Pawtucket woman who was hit by a car in Providence Friday night has died, according to Providence police.

52-year-old Frances Rushlow was rushed to the hospital after she was hit by a car at approximately 6:00 p.m. Friday.

The accident happened on Smithfield Ave near Colfax Street.

Rushlow was found unresponsive with a head injury when crews arrived on scene. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

Providence police told ABC6 News on Monday that Rushlow died of her injuries.

The driver, 33-year-old Derrick Santos, of Pawtucket, was issued a traffic violation: Conditions Requiring Reduced Speed and Due Care by Driver.
