Woman, 51, shot on 4th of July in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River Police said that a 51-year-old woman was shot on the Fourth of July.

The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Buffinton Street.

When officers arrived, Sgt. Moses Pereira said the woman, who’s from Fall River, was found bleeding after she was shot in her left arm.

Pereira said witnesses told them that they heard a loud argument in the street before shots were fired.

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was then taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

No further information was provided.
