Woonsocket cancels 4th of July Fireworks Display

WOONSOCKET, RI (WLNE) – The City of Woonsocket is postponing its annual Independence Day Fireworks Display due to COVID-19.

“The health and well-being of our residents is paramount at this unprecedented time,” Director of Human Services Linda Plays.“We have chosen to postpone this event until we are all able to fully enjoy the festive display. Tentatively, our goal is to plan a Labor Day event including fireworks.”

The city says once a new date is decided the event will be held on the grounds of the World
War II Veterans Memorial Park on Social Street.
