Woonsocket deli collecting donations for Ukrainian refugees
WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – A small deli has become a big drop-off spot for Ukrainian refugee donations in Woonsocket.
Krakow Deli Bakery & Smokehouse is collecting hygiene products, blankets, baby clothing, diapers, underwear for women and children, over-the-counter medicines, as well as first aid kits.
Data from the United Nations shows that nearly 3 million people fled Ukraine, because of the Russian invasion, as of Tuesday, and that number is expected to keep growing as Russians keep advancing into that country.
The owners of Krakow Deli told ABC6 News, as long as this conflict goes on, they’ll continue shipping items to Eastern Europe.
The next shipment will be heading to Poland on Wednesday, so the donation drop-offs will continue again on Thursday.
