Woonsocket man arrested on child porn charges

Rhode Island State Police arrested a Woonsocket man for possession of child pornography.

Jose A. Marquez Escarcega, 27, uploaded an image of child pornography to an online storage account, leading police to his Woonsocket home.

Investigation also revealed that Marquez Escarcega had solicited and paid for a sexual molestation between a juvenile and a family member while he watched and filmed on a webcam. The juvenile victim was identified as residing outside of the United States.

ICAC Task Force members executed a court-authorized search warrant at the suspect’s Woonsocket home, finding numerous images and videos of child pornography. 

Marquez Escarcega was charged with possession of child pornography, soliciting another to commit a crime (first degree child molestation), soliciting another to commit a crime (production of child pornography), and soliciting another to commit a crime (transfer of child pornography).
