Woonsocket man pleads guilty to federal drug charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket man busted for his involvement in a drug trafficking bust in 2020 pleaded guilty to federal charges Monday.

Michael Wilkerson, 38, pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Wilkerson was arrested in Oct. 2020 as part of a multi-department investigation know as “Operation River Fork.”

Wilkerson was one of 18 people arrested during the operation.

According to investigators, Wilkerson admitted to selling 93 grams of cocaine.

In total, investigators seized 375 grams of cocaine and nearly $80,000 as part of Operation River Fork.

Wilkerson is set to be sentenced in March of 2023.
