Woonsocket man sentenced for robbery and shooting spree

Providence, RI- A Woonsocket man has been sentenced to 55 years in prison with 35 years to serve and the remainder suspended with probation for a string of robberies and shootings that occurred in 2015.  

Zachary Alvarado, 20, of 285 Main St, Woonsocket was sentenced in Superior Court on Wednesday by Judge Robert D. Krause.  Alvarado had pleaded guilty before Judge Krause on March 23, 2016.

Alvarado was charged with a number of armed robberies in Woonsocket at two Metro PCS stores and for shooting four individuals outside of Aly’s Riverside Pub in Woonsocket on June 19, 2015.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorneys General Peter Roklan and Joseph McBurney on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General.
