BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) – The wrongful death lawsuit brought against Michelle Carter has been resolved.

Carter was convicted in 2017 of involuntary manslaughter in the 2014 death of 18-year-old Conrad Roy after sending him a series of text messages urging him to kill himself.

Carter’s lawyers have not commented on the suit, and attorneys for Roy’s mother declined to provide additional details, telling ABC6 that all they can say at this time is that the case has been resolved.

Carter began serving her 15-month sentence in February.
