CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – The YMCA of Greater Providence is helping keep senior citizens cool this summer.

The organization’s Power Lunch program offers an air conditioned space for seniors to come and relax while having a bite to eat.

“We’ve had about 35 individuals who have come through to enjoy free meals, and we’re probably averaging about a dozen per day,” said Andrea Champagne, YMCA Cranston Executive Director.

Anyone over the age of 60 is welcome to stop by for a bite and to learn helpful tips for saving energy around the house from National Grid.

Power Lunches will be held weekdays through August 3. More information is available online here.
