Fresh snowflakes for the New Year!

Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Mother Nature wanted to celebrate the start of 2026 with some snow across Southern New England! Most reports so far have ranged from a dusting to 2.0″ of snow. The final snowflakes will taper off around 8 AM or so, leading to a different feel for the afternoon. After a cold front moves through the region, colder air will filter in, leading to dropping temperatures and gustier winds. Temperatures midday will only be in the mid 20s, but feeling like the teens. Bundle up!

Overnight, lows will be in the teens, feeling like the single digits with the wind.

Friday will be sunnier, but still cold with highs in the upper 20s.

The weekend looks similar, but ever-so-slightly less bitter cold. Both days will be around 30 in the afternoon, with more sunshine Saturday than Sunday.
