1 dead, 1 injured in house fire in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — One person died, and another was injured after an early morning house fire in Warwick, according to police.

Officials said that around 12:34 a.m., officers from the Warwick Police Department and Warwick firefighters were dispatched to a home on Holt Street for the report of a house that was said to be fully engulfed in flames.

Police said it was reported that two people were trapped in the home.

One adult female victim was removed from the home and taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

One adult male victim was also located inside the home by members Warwick Fire Department as they entered the residence.

The adult male was found deceased and has not been identified at this time, according to officials.

Members of the Warwick Police Department, Warwick Fire Department and RI State Fire Marshal’s are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
