1 dead, 3 hurt in Warwick crash
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was killed and three others were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in Warwick.
The Warwick Police Department said 61-year-old Michael Perry of Cranston was killed after crashing head-on into another car on Post Road around 2:15 p.m.
Three others were hurt in the crash, which happened at a traffic light near Fire Station 2.
Police said a preliminary investigation showed Perry was traveling north on Post Road when he crossed lanes and crashed into an SUV passing through the intersection.
The 32-year-old woman driving was hurt, and her SUV was forced back into another car, injuring two others.
All were taken to the hospital, with Perry pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital around 2:30 p.m.
Several lanes were shut down as a crash reconstruction team investigated the cause of the crash.
They believe Perry may have had a medical emergency leading up to the incident.
